Sales & Operational Planning Implementation
After successfully promoting the benefits of a structured S&OP process and sourcing a software solution to manage an annual £30m trade promotions budget HMS was appointed as Steering Committee member holding responsibility for the Demand and Supply Planning functions of a large vertically integrated FMCG company.

The process followed a monthly collaborative cycle starting from the generation of a robust and accurate base line forecast overlaid with Sales and Marketing activity and reconciled against the Supply plan.
​
Through a series of structured cross-functional meetings the process provided benefits to Procurement, Materials Control, Logistics and Operations providing the stability and information required to effectively plan over a longer horizon.
​
A process to manage short term customer driven change was also established to provide the flexibility required mid cycle without impacting on the stability of the mid/long term plan.
