To create a weekly view of capacity utilisation, warehouse space and material requirements over a mid-term horizon HMS developed and implemented an excel based MPS solution that provided the user with detail information to manage the SKU portfolio within the business agreed inventory policy and capacity availability.

The MPS provides the user with visual signals to support management by exception and avoid unnecessary workload to maintain customer service within business agreed targets.

The solution utilises the same ‘Routing’ methodology to identify capacity utilisation as applied in ERP system by loading planned requirements to work centres based on individual SKU level throughput rates.
